The occasion was Nigro’s 11th Annual Trunk Show – two days of pre-holiday western apparel and custom boot immersion. Although supply chain issues have slowed the delivery of a host of popular western lines and boot sizes, the event was still an unqualified success. In fact, one enthusiastic client purchased six pairs of custom boots!
As long-time Nigro’s loyalists know, one of store’s specialties is the design and production of one-of-a-kind custom western boots. Thanks to an exclusive relationship with Rio of Mercedes and Anderson Bean, Nigro’s customers can choose the specific characteristics of their own personally customized boots – including the selection of all leather materials, toe shape, color, stitching pattern, upper and heel portion materials – even ethically-sourced exotic skins. “You dress the boot from top to bottom.” says custom boot expert David Nigro Jr., “You pick the top color, top height, the vamp (the foot of the boot) the heel, the toe shape, color, stitch patter, and the outsole!”
Custom boot customers are welcome to assemble boot designs with most any specifications and materials they prefer – “Except sparkles and studs!” said David Nigro Jr., “It’s not a free for all!” Custom boot pricing begins around $800 and, with today’s supply chain challenges, routinely take nearly 8 months to handcraft and ship. While it takes several months, customers agree that it’s worth the wait and appreciate Nigro’s dedication to high quality craftsmanship.
