What are Nigro’s Exclusives?
Nigro’s Western Store is one of a select number of family-owned western wear retailers in the U.S. that partner with Rios of Mercedes to create exclusive in-house cowboy boot styles. As close as one can get to a customized pair of boots, these unique styles are designed by L.D. Nigro personally for patrons of Nigro’s Western Store. His eye for creating truly distinctive designs has been honed over many years, including literally thousands of interactions with boot customers on the retail floor in Nigro’s boot department, and then working one-on-one with the best of the best boot crafters in the world at the Rios factory in Mercedes, Texas. When L.D. designs a new Nigro’s Exclusive boot style, he does so with Nigro’s own boot customers specifically in mind.

Rios of Mercedes Cowboy Boots
The Rios brothers manufactured and sold their first pair of boots in 1853. Until the mid-1970s, Rios of Mercedes focused on creating customized, one-off boots for individual customers. When the Evans family purchased the company in 1975, they were determined to bring artisan-quality boots to a broader audience without compromising quality.
To meet that goal, the family embarked on a successful mission to elevate the company’s wholesale production and manufacturing operations while honoring the meticulously refined boot-making process at Rios. That enduring commitment to cowboy boot excellence is still evident in every pair of Rios of Mercedes boots.
