In honor of America’s 250th anniversary, the Rios of Mercedes Family of Brands has released three exclusive styles celebrating American craftsmanship and Western tradition – the 250th Independence Collection!

A milestone as momentous as 250 years of independence calls for something truly special. That’s why the Rios of Mercedes Family of Brands has partnered with a very limited number of independent retailers to bring boot enthusiasts three commemorative limited-edition releases from Rios of Mercedes, Anderson Bean, and Olathe Boot Company. It’s a fitting tribute to the craftsmanship and traditions that have shaped American Western heritage for generations.

Each of these exclusive styles is handcrafted in Mercedes, Texas, and only available through select retailers, like Nigro’s Western Store. For years, Nigro’s has worked closely with Rios of Mercedes to bring Nigro’s customers unique, near-custom boot styles that can’t be found anywhere else. Now, Nigro’s customers have an opportunity to own a piece of a truly historic boot collection from the Rios of Mercedes Family of Brands.

Rios of Mercedes Saddle Elk Butt Boots

For the Rios of Mercedes version of the 250th Anniversary cowboy boots, Saddle Elk leather was chosen for the vamp. The leather was produced entirely at Legacy Leather’s tannery in Wartrace, Tennessee. Each USA-bred hide undergoes a precise, three-step process, starting with the application of a proprietary in-house tannage to establish a durable foundation. Next, the leather is drum-dyed for full color penetration – meaning it won’t scratch or show a raw edge when cut. Lastly, the hide is hot-stuffed to infuse the leather with a custom blend of waxes and oils to lubricate the fibers and make the leather resistant to drying or cracking.

Anderson Bean Natural Brahma Bison Boots

The American Bison leather used for Anderson Bean’s version of the 250th Anniversary boot is some of the finest bison hide available in the United States, sourced from one of the nation’s three largest bison processing plants. During production, the leather is thoroughly wet-stuffed with fatliquors, oils, and vegetable extracts, resulting in a rich, ultra-durable leather that will develop its own natural patina with age.

One advantage of this natural bison boot leather is built-in durability that requires very little maintenance. Simply wipe this pair of boots with a clean cloth and water on occasion, and use conditioners or cleansers very sparingly, and this pair of 250th Anniversary boots will continue to look great for years to come.

Olathe Brown Marine Field Reverse Boot

For the Olathe Boots 250th Anniversary version of this special boot, premium roughout leather was chosen from one of the nation’s most respected leather producers, Horween Leather Co. The family-owned American tannery was founded in Chicago in 1905 and has five generations of leather-making experience. For over a century, the brand has built a reputation for unparalleled quality, consistency, and innovation – all qualities that are also found in the Olathe Boots 250th Anniversary edition boots.
