The origin story of the cowboy boot begins in cobbler C.H. Hyer’s small shop on the outskirts of the Kansas City stockyards. A cowboy walked in one day and requested a new style of boot better fit for his work out on the range, and left with the West’s first pair of cowboy boots.

The brand saw great success over the next 100 years, but hard times forced the company to cease production in the 1970s. That was until C.H. Hyer’s great-great-grandson, Zach Lawless, picked up the reigns and kicked Hyer Boots back into action!

Since the Hyer’s relaunch in 2023, the venerated old-school brand has cultivated a steadfast and loyal new following. And, for good reason. There’s no lack of attention to detail in Hyer’s boot-making process. From time-tested construction, top-of-the-line leathers, authentic stitch work, and modern comfort enhancements, each and every element of a Hyer boot is a testament to the brand’s commitment to quality and craftsmanship. Whether worn in the saddle, on the ranch, or out on the town, Hyer cowboy boots offer the perfect balance of rugged durability and refined style.

As Hyer Boots continues to expand their lineup of cowboy boots, Nigro’s Western Store will continue to bring these new lines to boot buyers in the town where they first originated – Kansas City – and to boot buyers around the country and around the world!
