The HYER Boot Company is back and stronger than ever. 100 years ago, the brand enjoyed incredible success after capturing the attention of cowboys and ranchers on the hunt for a boot that was engineered for the extreme conditions of the American West. C.H. Hyer, a cobbler in the late 1800s based out of Olathe, Kansas, helped conceptualize and craft the first pair of modern cowboy boots with features designed for life on the range – a narrow toe (that would make getting into stirrups smoother), a raised heel (to hold on to the stirrups better), and a scalloped top (that would make the boots puts easier to pull on).
After a near half-century hiatus, the great-great-grandson of C.H. Hyer, Zach Lawless, picked up the reins and took on the mammoth task of relaunching his family’s cowboy boot brand in 2023. The old-school brand quickly found its place with a new generation of cowboy boot aficionados. And, for good reason.
